Join us Thursday night to kick off the weekend at the Lakeview Hotel in Summit Village (main Celebration headquarters).
National Park Service Awards
This award ceremony gives the National Park Service a chance to reward the many hours our volunteers give to the Trail. Help us celebrate their accomplishments and cheer them on!
Explore Sleeping Bear Dunes
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a stretch of 35 miles of Lake Michigan coastline with pristine beaches, sand dunes, wildlife and trails. Listen as the Friends of Sleeping Bear Dunes walk us through the history and culture of the area and the significance of the park then and now. It will be a sneak peek for those signing up for the full-day trip to the park on Saturday.
Friday night is a chance to relax. We’ll shift gears and location, and head to Ivan’s at Schuss Village for awards, great food, local beer, and games.
North Country Trail Association Awards
NCTA awards give us the chance to recognize volunteers, partners and trail champions for their contributions and accomplishments that go far beyond the number of hours worked. Join us as we cheer our Trail Builders, Trail Blazers, Rising Stars, Lifetime Achievement winners and all of those that inspire us to greatness.
A Night at Schuss Mountain
Ivan’s sits at the base of Schuss Mountain: the perfect spot with lots of room to hang out and get to know each other. Take a chairlift ride to the top of the hill for the perfect sunset, or hang out by the bonfire with s’mores and challenge other hikers to lawn games. This will be the ideal way to recover after two days of hiking!
Shuttles and ample parking will be available.
We’re back at Summit Village at the Lakeview Hotel for our last night with an inspirational keynote speaker, and a chance to reflect on a great weekend and to look ahead to next year.
A Beautiful Life in Progress
Runner, author, speaker, adventurer and inspiration, Mirna Valerio is a force to be reckoned with. She is the author of A Beautiful Work in Progress, the subject of an award-winning REI Force of Nature documentary and was recently named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. Join us this evening to hear her speak about what trails mean to her and how together we can change the face of outdoor recreation. Her book will be available for purchase on-site with an opportunity for book signing during happy hour
Passing of the Torch
Planning for next year’s Celebration is already underway and the committee will share a little about why you’ll want to join us next year in Clarion, Pennsylvania!
